Immigrant Services Calgary offers a wide range of programs and services to help newcomers enhance their life in Canada. These programs and services are offered in more than 70 languages to help newcomers make Calgary their home.
Discovery House is a second stage shelter that offers protective and supportive services for women with children who have left an environment of family violence. Core services include low rent housing, on-site support and counselling for the residents, and psycho-educational groups.
CCIS provides settlement and integration services to all immigrants and refugees in Southern Alberta. These services are delivered through a multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary team of professionals, in over 62 languages. This includes services for Business Employment and Training, Community Development and Integration , Family and Children Services, Resettlement and Integration Services.
Centre For New Comers welcomes and supports newcomers adjustment into Canada through services and initiatives to promote diversity, participation and citizenship: eg. language learning, employment skills and cultural practices that characterize life in Canada. Services are delivered in newcomer’s first language.
Professional crisis counselors provide free counselling for individuals, groups and families at Distress Centre. They offer both evening and emergency appointments. Call the crisis line at 403-266-HELP (4357) and ask for an intake to counselling.
