Rapid Response Phone Line

We are pleased to announce that as of October 23, 2023, PCHS Calgary has launched a Rapid Response Phone line that allows community members and clients to access a counsellor Monday to Friday 9 AM-9 PM and Sundays from 10 AM-2 PM by calling 825-414-0355.

The primary purpose of the Rapid Response phone line is to provide mental health support, assessment, and intervention in English, Hindi and Punjabi, during times when mental health clinics, crisis centers, or therapists' offices are closed. This is not 911.

The phone line is staffed by trained mental health professionals. These professionals have expertise in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and providing emotional support to callers.

When a call is received, the mental health professional engages in active listening, empathy, and non-judgmental communication to create a safe and supportive environment for the caller. The caller's concerns, emotions, and current state of mental well-being are assessed to determine the appropriate level of response and intervention required.

The mental health professional utilizes established protocols and guidelines to conduct a triage assessment, considering factors such as the caller's level of distress, potential risk to themselves or others, and immediate needs.
